IAQ Mission Launches to Raise Awareness About Indoor Pool Air Quality
February 24, 2026
New initiative led by Olympic Champion Rowdy Gaines aims to make natatorium air quality a shared priority across the aquatics community.
The IAQ Mission, a new campaign led by three-time Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines and supported by Dehumidified Air Solutions (DAS), shines a spotlight on the importance of healthy air in indoor pool environments.
Gaines, known as “the voice of swimming,” has spent decades around aquatic facilities and understands how air quality affects everyone in the building – from athletes and coaches to spectators and staff.
“I’ve spent more time breathing pool air than swimming in the water – that’s why air quality matters to me,” says Gaines.
The IAQ Mission brings together athletes, coaches, and facility operators to emphasize how the air above the waterline impacts health, comfort, and performance. By sparking dialogue and sharing perspectives, the campaign encourages greater attention to an aspect of pool health and safety that’s often overlooked.
