Continuous Improvement Lead

We are looking to expand our team! Dehumidified Air Solutions, the leading manufacturer of indoor pool and grow room dehumidifiers in North America, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead at our Montreal, Quebec location.

Position Summary

The CI Lead is to identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction while reducing costs. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and facilitate process improvement projects and training/workshops to drive cultural change
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and 5WHY to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/business and assembly issues, determine material flow, project plans, production capacity, and facility design, and create process documentation and workmanship standards
  • Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, budget development, and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
  • Drive value stream mapping to define Current State and the transition to Future State
  • Drive Kaizen Events and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive 5S culture
  • Participate in and roll out FMEAs
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and all other certification activities
  • Develop and conduct compliance audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent
  • Ensures a safe and healthy workplace while implementing improvements

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from an accredited University or related field
  • 1-2 years relevant manufacturing work experience

Required Skills

  • Exceptional English and French communication skills, both verbal and written, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of best practice project management tools
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change
  • Previous exposure to a low volume high product mix environment
  • Ability to work with and influence others in a fast-paced environment, ability to work shifts as required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and ERP applications
  • Training in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification is an asset
  • Ability to read Schematics
  • Training in CAD and Visio
